10 years after the show opened, and closed, we got reviewed for a written copy of the scrip! It's from the Emily Dickinson International Society Bulletin 25:1 (May/June 2013) p. 26. For those of you have let your subscription lapse, here is a link to a pdf of the review.
Here is what some people wrote on cards we passed put soliciting their opinions when the show was actually running:
- "It was funny, entertaining and satirical... [this show was about]
the futility of grad school which is ringing particularly true right now"
JP (First year grad student)
- "It was funny, apt, drool and satiric...[the show was about] the triumph
of doing over talking about doing" JMJ & DC
- "It was perky, wry, satirical and amusing..." anonymous
- "Quick, lively, funny, musical, entertaining..." another anonymous
And we're not related to these people!
My mom said
- "Very subversive" (which is also what the lady at the Emily Dickinson International Society said.)
and finally Adam Long of the Reduced Shakespeare Company noted:
- "A masterpiece of legal documentation! Short and pithy, yet with a
wry sense of humor and a thought-provoking finish (asking the licensee to
print his name is inspired, echoes of Camus' 'The Stranger'). I wholeheartedly
recommend this contract to both veteran license agreement enthusiasts and
first-time licensees alike!"
of course he is referring to the license agreement
