I know for me, lessons learned and people met have had a tremendous influence on my professional non-Faire life, as well other creative endeavors. And I think it would be interesting to hear of similar people who have experienced Faire and incorporated “Faire lessons” into their “real life” as well as learning who were the people you admired and learned from.
Overall, I would like the tone to be positive. I am looking for a positive looking back on how elements in one’s life, professional, artistic and personal, have been enhanced by having been in Faire. Honestly, I am NOT interested in "Things were better in my day, and kids these days don't know jack;” “Faire was ruined by…” rants or settling old scores.
With the miracle of Zoom, the recordings can be done remotely. (i.e., you don’t have to leave your house, or neither would I). I would give you a copy of the interview before it is released, and anything you want deleted could be removed. I am hoping that there would not a lot of retakes but that is something we will just have to see if they are needed.
For me, this is a chance to acquire new skills. For you, it could be something of a legacy document, or a way for potential clients discover more hidden aspects about you. For the world, it could document the phenomena of Faire and be in some very small way, a means of maintaining its message and spirit.
Thank you for considering. At this point I would imagine the interview to go something like this: (you don’t have to talk about everything, only those that are of interest, or we can add others that you want. i.e. this a suggestion, not a must be done outline.) Some of these questions will be improv/counterfactuals.
Faire Folk
The podcast that is conversations with Faire performers and how that experience shaped their lives.
Also, if you have any audio files that you would like to share, let me know. I can strip some audio files from some video, so we could explore that as well.
Thank you for considering.
All the best
